Barcelona is a beautiful Spanish city, with plenty on offer for the tourists. During our 6 day trip to the city, we decided to discover the city on foot. Yes, it is a big city with lots to explore – we took time strolling around the streets, busy localities and enjoying some of the best local foods. We visited many local parks, theatres, shopping destinations and museums.


If you plan to visit the city for a short time, prepare your schedule in advance, so that you do not miss out some of the top destinations.


Park Guell –


One of the most popular destinations Park Guell is situated in the higher part of Barcelona which offers some of the best views of city. This is a beautiful park with number of stunning architectonic elements and gardens. The park was declared a World Heritage Site by the UNESCO.


Museu de La Sagrada Familia –


Anyone who spends a day in Barcelona doesn’t miss visiting the Sagrada Familia Temple. This is one of the landmark places in the city, visited for its grandeur and light.


Barcelona Beach –

As per the Discovery Channel and according to National Geographic, this beach is counted amongst the top 10 beaches in the World. There are 7 beaches in the city which stretch over to more than 2.8 miles. Spend a day along the oldest and largest beaches of the city.


The Magical Montjuic is one of those places, which you can definitely visit for a lovely stroll. The natural surroundings and freshness of the place is quite beckoning for the hundreds of tourists who visit the place daily. Do not miss out the many concerts and other musical extravaganzas in the city. There are a number of shopping destinations and magnificent places to dine, as you choose to spend time in the city.

What to do when in Zurich

Zurich, one of the most picturesque places of the world, is the dream destination of many people. If you are planning a trip to Switzerland, you definitely cannot miss Zurich. The city has much to offer for the tourists, besides its heavenly beauty. Visit the old town and you will fall in love with the narrow alleys and the odd quirky shops. Do not miss out the industrial quarter Viadukt as you choose to spend your days in the magnificent city.

Zurich is nature’s paradise. There are several parks and gardens in the city for tourists and locals to spend their time. Do not miss –

  • Botanical Garden – Find more than 15,000 different varieties of trees and plants in the region. Tourists love some of the rare varieties of plant species in the garden.
  • Zoological Garden – If you have children traveling with you, this place is not to be missed. There are more than 2200 animals in the zoo in different enclosures. Spot the rare variety of India lions, snow leopards, pandas, Amur leopards and more.
  • Chinese Garden – The main attraction of the garden is its theme – The Three Friends of Winter. Plum, bamboo and pine are the three plants which brave the harsh winters together.

If you a music lover, you shouldn’t miss the Zurich Opera House. The Schauspielhaus Zürich is the best theatre complex in the city. There are several musical events, operas and festivals held in the numerous theatres and Opera Houses held throughout the year.

Enjoy a Boat Ride

This is the way to have a completely different view of this European city. These are usually one hour trips and will take you around some of the best places of the city. You can also plan for a romantic dinner cruise, special fondue trips or enjoy the lovely cruises just for vegetarians. Do not forget to arrive a bit early.
